agape

beloved i crave you always & find you in eyes and hair, freckles and the veins,
you are the rocks
where falling water collects
and you are the drain that swallows
what has been washed from me.

bite me, drink my color,
rumble the air above my bed with your soaring machinery.

my head is throbbing, i am clumsy, drunk on you,
there is no such thing
as too close.

you are the rusty fountain and the foreign entity,
the unmade bed of my human heart.

i fall asleep wrapped in you
and wake up warped in your broken mirror.

beloved,
i’d stumble
through eternity
to catch a glimpse of you.
